Country Director - Indonesia - Data Centres

With construction already underway for their first Data Centre in Indonesia - JKT, our client requires a Country leader/Director to join their growing team. Job Description:
The role will work with existing senior management to strategise, develop and implement the sustainable commercial activities in the face of an evolving regulatory and commercial environment.

• Development of business plans for core hyperscale data centre developments, including recommendation of sites and opportunities, lead due diligence, generate financial feasibility studies, establish target customers, and manage relationships, setting up operations and other ancillary services relating to Data Centre (DC) activities.
• Development of business plans for off-site renewables, grid support services, district heating/cooling or other DC ancillary services to facilitate expansion of DC activities within regulatory and policy limits.
• Execution of approved business plans.
• Commercial profitability optimisation and risk management of DC portfolio and development pipeline.
• Relationship development and management with all key customers, industry regulators, competitors and policy makers.
• Oversight of commercial and corporate contract legal negotiation, including management of legal counsel.
• Development and implementation of strategies to maximise short, medium and long term commercial benefit and sustainability of DC portfolio.
• Strategic planning of human resources including any employment law escalations.
• Development and negotiation of relevant commercial partnership and alliances to support above.
• Ensuring compliance with all statutory corporate governance requirements.
• Identification, procurement and development of sites outside of existing campuses (if any), in line with customer requirement and commercial opportunities.
• Deployment of subject matter expertise on evolving public and regulatory policy within DC and energy industries to identify new commercial opportunities adjacent to existing activities of the broader entity.
• Oversight of DC construction in collaboration with internal and external teams.
• Set up, develop and manage a strong DC operations team for efficient maintenance and operations of the DC.
• Overall accountability for the DC business, performance and growth opportunities.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge and experience in the data centre industry, including development and management of data centres.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, interpersonal, teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills (English and local language).
